Wake up! The last option remaining is herbal remedies for high blood pressure. Yes, you must have tried all possible treatments for your frustrating high BP and probably must have given up by now. It isn’t easy to get rid of the haunting disease. It gets the hell out of you, leaving you embarrassed and frustrated. So you will be extremely happy to hear that there’s still an option left: Simple, uncomplicated herbal remedies for high BP.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is known as the disease of our epoch, often regarded as silent killer. With time, its incidence is drastically increasing. It may lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, kidney failure, stroke and other health problems. In this chronic medical condition, the systemic arterial BP is elevated. Except for a meager number of cases which are caused by some conditions that affect the kidneys, arteries, heart or endocrine system, the cause of most of the high BP cases cannot be found. Of course preventive measures like regular and controlled diet, physical exercises, relaxation therapy, meditation etc. must be observed. But if you are reading this, it’s obvious that they all must not have worked. Anyway don’t lose hope as one option is still left and that’s herbal remedies for high blood pressure.

Garlic is regarded as one of the most effective herbal remedies for high blood pressure, considered to be excellent for thrombosis, hardening of arteries and high blood cholesterol. However, garlic supplements should only be used under the supervision of a qualified health practitioner as it is seen to thin the blood, reducing its ability to clot.

Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) is a coronary vasodilator. It protects the heart, strengthens circulation and helps to maintain the health and tone heart muscle. It is also helpful in stopping bleeding and to promote healing after a heart failure.

Indian gooseberry (amla) is another effective herbal remedy for high BP. Amla mixed with honey can be taken every morning. Amla taken with milk daily helps in lowering the BP. The herb Hawthorn is often used by traditional herbal practitioners for high BP. There is some evidence that the supplement Stresx help to reduce high blood pressure.

Preliminary studies suggest that Fish Oil may have a modest effect on hypertension. There is some evidence that DHA, an ingredient of fish oil, lowers BP. Watermelon is another safeguard against high blood pressure. Most useful herbal remedy which is beneficial in controlling BP level is Stresx capsule.

General anxiety disorder is commonly treated with a two pronged approach. It combines the use of cognitive therapy and medications.

In turn, cognitive therapy also involves two arms or elements in its course of treatment. The first aim of this type of therapy is to help the patient recognize what causes them to be anxious or stressed. The therapist may employ various exercises or programs to help detect the source of the patient’s anxiety. Once the therapist has identified these sources they will move on to find ways to help the patient manage their stress and anxiety.

These management tactics will focus on trying to elicit new behaviors from the patient, but only after they have exchanged their unhealthy thought patterns with wholesome and beneficial ones. There are usually four approaches used to accomplish these changes and they are biofeedback, exposure, relaxation and meditation.

Biofeedback focuses on training people to enhance their lives by discovering how to manage various bodily functions like blood pressure, pulse and body tension. A therapist and patient will use devices to measures these bodily functions the results of which can be viewed by both. Then the patient will be taught by the therapist to use various tools to help control the bodily function of interest. The patient will begin using the tools and the measuring device will give an objective measurement of how successful the tool is in helping the patient to achieve the desired result.

For example, a person with high blood pressure might be taught relaxation exercises by a therapist. When the patient uses these exercises the impact on their blood pressure can be measured and used to show the patient how effective a tool is in controlling their blood pressure. When the patient encounters stressful situations in their everyday lives they can reflect on these biofeedback sessions and implement some of the tools used with their therapist to hopefully gain control over their blood pressure and also help them cope with stressful situations in their lives.

With exposure therapy the patient is encouraged to mentally recall a situation or concern that causes their anxiety. Their therapist will walk the patient through the resulting symptoms and the disturbing impacts those symptoms have on them physically and mentally. By facing their fears and anxiety with the therapist present many times the therapist can help the patient learn coping skills to reduce or even eliminate the patient’s symptoms.

Relaxation techniques have proven to be very effective in treating anxiety. Most patients will notice an improved sense of self and will feel physically better after starting a systematic relaxation program. There are numerous relaxation techniques that can be used to relieve stress and anxiety. A patient will need to experiment with various programs to see which one works best for them. These programs will help the patient to deal with stress more effectively, calm their thought patterns and promote self-confidence.

Meditation is also used to help deal with stress and anxiety and has been used for centuries. This technique centers on advancing past normal thought patterns to advanced awareness and relaxation. The most common forms of meditation will involve assuming various physical positions or postures that promote relaxation and reduce muscle tension while striving to control thought processes and breathing patterns. While it can take months to develop an effective meditation program there are numerous local and community groups across the country that help people develop their meditation skills.

Now you have a better understanding of biofeedback, exposure, relaxation and meditation and how they are used in the treatment of general anxiety disorder.

Using natural herbs for high blood pressure control is very appealing. After all, prescription blood pressure medicines are notorious for their adverse side effects. Many men find themselves suddenly dealing with impotence, for example. Other side effects include insomnia, fatigue, mood swings, bowel issues, and more.

Natural cures for high blood pressure, on the other hand, promise to be safe, effective and, most importantly, without side effects. But do herbs for high blood pressure really work?

First, it’s important to remember that plants contain chemical compounds that have formed the basis for hundreds of pharmaceutical drugs. More than half of all cancer drugs, for example, are derived from herbs, or plants. Let’s take a look at three herbs that have a strong reputation for reducing blood pressure:

Hawthorne Berry: This herb is supposed to enhance the heart’s ability to pump blood. It does this by getting rid of plaque from the arterial walls, increasing the amount of blood and oxygen feeding the heart.

One large study of hawthorne berry observed 1,000 subjects with heart problems. For two years they took hawthorne berry. The vast majority reported a substantial decrease in their symptoms. Nearly every subject was able to cut back on their medications. Many stopped taking them altogether.

Dandelion: It’s a little known fact that this common weed contains more vitamins and minerals than most vegetables. Dandelion is also a potent diuretic that’s very effective at reducing excessive salt in the kidneys–a leading cause of high blood pressure.

Garlic: This versatile herb has many properties that help regulate the heart and circulatory systems. A recent study in Germany followed 280 adults over four years. Those who took garlic instead of a placebo showed nearly 20% less arterial plaque.

The good news is that natural treatments for high blood pressure control can be very effective, especially when combined with diets for high blood pressure. The bad new is that many herbal supplements use poor-quality herbal ingredients in weak doses. It’s crucial to use a supplement that contains generous amounts of first-rate herbs.

If you exercise, eat right, and take a quality natural cure for high blood pressure control, you won’t need your prescription drugs anymore. You can live a healthy, active lifestyle without worrying about your blood pressure–or debilitating side effects!
